Bournemouth wants to remove Nketiah from its transfer shortlist

Bournemouth may be the second club to abandon their interest in Eddie Nketiah, potentially leaving Arsenal stranded on the striker.

The Gunners had initially left the door open for Nketiah’s departure and had already tried to negotiate a deal with Olympique Marseille weeks ago.

Although Nketiah agreed to the French club’s personal terms, Arsenal could not agree on the transfer fee, leading to Marseille’s withdrawal.

Bournemouth then emerged as a possible destination after Dominic Solanke was sold to Tottenham.

Arsenal had hoped that the Cherries would seriously pursue Nketiah, but that interest has now evaporated.

Bournemouth have since secured a new striker, signing Evanilson from FC Porto in a potentially £40 million deal.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth’s hunt for Nketiah is practically over with this signing.

We probably overestimated Nketiah in the talks with Marseille and may now have to do without the striker.

This is no guarantee that he will perform well this season and if he plays few games his value will drop even further by next summer.

There are at least two weeks until the transfer window closes and we hope to find a buyer for him.
