Most likely, the Hornets will enter the lottery again and try to get a high pick in a loaded class. Charlotte owes its first-round pick to the Spurs if they make the playoffs. The franchise will likely trade several players before the deadline to acquire young talent and draft capital.

The veteran sharpshooter has a one-year minimum contract. If Charlotte struggles, Curry could be bought out to join a rival, but he’s in no hurry to leave. His father, Dell, played for the Hornets for ten years. Seth was born and raised in the city. The 34-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent years and is happy to be able to play for his hometown team.

Stephen Curry’s younger brother has the eighth-best 3-point percentage in NBA history at 43.1 percent. Every contender wants more shots and more space. Seth Curry takes advantage of open opportunities and no team is eager to let him go.

Curry’s health and desire to play for a contender will determine whether he leaves Charlotte before the deadline. The Hornets will keep Curry if he plays a role and the team stays in the race. If they head toward the lottery, the 6-foot-1 guard could move.
