Donald Glover has announced his final two projects as Childish Gambino, a reissued, finalized version of his fourth studio album 3.15.20 entitled Atavista and Bando Stone in the New World, a soundtrack to Glover’s post-apocalyptic film of the same name for which no release date has yet been announced.

The seven-month, 55-stop world tour began on August 11 and includes stops in North America, Europe and Australasia before concluding on February 11, 2025. Gambino will be joined by special guests Willow and Amaarae on select dates.

Glover had anticipated the abolition of his rap pseudonym Childish Gambino as early as 2015, when he told the “Today” show: “I want to have periods in my life. I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should end. I like endings.”

At the 2017 Governor’s Ball, he went even further, according to Complex, and bluntly declared that his next album would also be his last. The following year, at the kickoff of his “This Is America Tour” in Atlanta, the rapper told the crowd, “If you’re at this show, then you know this is the last Gambino tour ever,” according to a video posted by a concertgoer on Reddit.

However, Glover insists that “The New World Tour” will be the end of his moniker. However, he plans to continue pursuing other music projects and touring in the future.

Glover’s “The New World Tour” follows his surprise Coachella appearance during Tyler, the Creator’s set in April 2024. “The New World Tour” is Glover’s first tour since his “This Is America Tour” in 2019.

In the years that followed, Glover was busy in front of and behind the scenes with his projects “Swarm,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” and the final two seasons of “Atlanta.”
