Jean Dawson and Lil Yachty collaborate on “Die For Me”

Versatility is at the core of Jean Dawson’s artistry. So far this year, the enigmatic artist has produced quite a wide range of releases, including his first Spanish track “Divino Desmadre,” as well as his contribution to A24’s Talking Heads tribute album with “Swamp” and WRITE THE FUTURE’s 1999 compilation album with “fIT chECK fREEsTYle.” For the first time, Dawson collaborates with Lil Yachty on a more melodic song called “Die For Me.”

“I bet somebody loves me, no / When I’m dead, we’ll see / Don’t show up to my funeral / If you don’t want to die for me,” he sings in the track’s chorus, which heavily emphasizes Dawson’s vocals, which are often overshadowed.

“Knowledge speaks and wisdom listens,” Dawson noted in a statement. “I know nothing except this feeling that I’m chasing and getting closer to as it seems. I don’t want to talk anymore. When I was younger, I was so excited, so talkative. Now I’m not excited, just obsessed. I have no words anymore, except in the songs I write. I hope you feel something.”

The track comes shortly after Dawson’s latest tour and album announcement. “I would like to officially announce Glimmer of God Album title 3 and North American tour dates. Can’t wait to see you
