The Last of Us’ Dina actor praises Bella Ramsey’s performance and reveals that filming for season 2 is almost complete
Isabela Merced, the star of the second season of “The Last of Us”, has high praise for her co-actress Bella Ramsey and reveals that filming for the second season of the successful video game adaptation is almost complete.
“We’re at the end. I think we’re almost done,” the actor, who plays Dina in the new chapter, told Josh Horowitz in the latest episode of Happy Sad Confused. “I’ve already seen the teaser, (showrunner) Craig Mazin showed it to me, it’s phenomenal and I’m so excited for the world to see it.”
“I’m really proud of Bella. If I were to wrap this up as one of the last interviews before we wrap, I would say I really hope Bella gets her flowers. They work really, really hard, physically and emotionally. One thing I learned from this is, ‘Wow, you can really admire people younger than you.’ You can really look up to them.”
In season 2, Ramsey reprises the role of Ellie, while Pedro Pascal returns as Joel. Since the series will likely follow The Last of Us Part 2 closely, we don’t want to give anything away. However, we can assume that the next episodes will deal with the aftermath of Joel’s fateful decision in the season 1 finale. Newcomers Kaitlyn Dever and Young Mazino have been cast as Abby and Jesse, respectively.
Before Merced is seen navigating a mushroom-induced apocalypse, she stars as Kay in the new sci-fi horror film Alien: Romulus. Directed by Fede Alvarez, who previously directed Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, the film follows a group of twenty-something space colonizers who face the terrifying titular creatures aboard an abandoned space station.
