British cyclist Kadeena Cox was heartbroken after failing to win a medal at the Velodrome.

The 33-year-old was aiming for the gold medal in the final of the women’s 500 m time trial C4-5, but fell just a few seconds into her run.

Cox looked unsure as she came out of the blocks and headed toward the middle of the track.

As she attempted to return to the racing line, the ParalympicsGB star fell off her bike and immediately turned to her team for help.

After being examined on the course, Cox was eventually brought down by a paramedic and her trainer.

The officials then refused to allow the Leeds-born athlete to restart, which left her visibly devastated.

Cox, considered one of the greatest ParalympicsGB players of all time, was seen sobbing at the side of the track after the final.

The 33-year-old suffered a calf injury this year that prevented her from taking part in athletics competitions.

Cox is a four-time Paralympic gold medalist and has won events on both the track and the velodrome.

In Rio 2016, just two years after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she won gold in the women’s 400m T38, silver in the women’s 4x100m relay T35-T38 and bronze in the women’s 100m T38 on the track.

That same summer, she also won gold in the C4-5 time trial in cycling.

She returned in 2021 and took gold in the C4-5 time trial and the C1-5 mixed team sprint.

In addition to her incredible achievements as an athlete and cyclist, Cox won the title of Celebrity Masterchef in 2021 and later appeared in the hit reality TV show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Cox began competing in sprints at the age of 15, competing in the 60 m, 100 m and 200 m races.

In May 2014, she was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

Four months later, she was hospitalized again, where after extensive tests she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
