MBM Motorsports had not originally planned to participate in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway last Sunday night.

However, because NASCAR wanted Parker Retzlaff to compete in a non-superspeedway race before racing for Beard Motorsports at Daytona International Speedway next weekend, Carl Long’s team ultimately sent the 21-year-old from Rhinelander, Wisconsin, to the No. 66 Ford.

It was MBM Motorsports’ seventh points race appearance of the 2024 season, and Retzlaff became their sixth different driver. BJ McLeod is the only driver to have made multiple points race appearances this year behind the wheel of the No. 66 Ford. Other drivers include Timmy Hill, David Starr, Chad Finchum and Josh Bilicki.

But MBM Motorsports, which returned to the Cup Series in 2024 after not competing at the sport’s highest level last year, will not be back for next Sunday afternoon’s race at Michigan International Speedway.

In fact, there are no non-charter cars on the entry list for this 200-lap FireKeepers Casino 400 on the 2.0-mile (3.219-kilometer) four-turn oval in Brooklyn, Michigan. Only the 36 charter cars will compete.

MBM Motorsports has six more Cup Series races scheduled for later in the season, but drivers have not been announced for any of them. They plan to make one more regular season appearance at next Saturday night’s race at Daytona.

In the postseason, they plan to field the No. 66 Ford on Saturday, September 21 at Bristol Motor Speedway, Sunday, September 29 at Kansas Speedway, Sunday, October 13 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, Sunday, October 20 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Sunday, November 10 at Phoenix Raceway.
