Eddie Redmayne to earn £1,000,000 per episode for upcoming thriller series

If you suddenly see Eddie Redmayne eating caviar for breakfast, lunch, and tea, or going on extensive shopping sprees, it might be because the astronomical salary for his latest role has just landed in his bank account.

If the rumors are true, the 42-year-old actor will be rolling in money when he cashes his check for the lead role in Sky and Peacock’s upcoming thriller series, which is set to hit theaters later this year.

The experienced film star – best known for his roles in Les Misérables, The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl and the Fantastic Beasts film series – is said to receive a whopping £1,000,000 per episode for this appearance.

So, drinks are on Redmayne, folks. Collect ’em!

He plays a ruthless British assassin in The Day of the Jackal, which retells the story of Frederick Forsyth’s classic 1971 novel of the same name.

Movie fans may remember that a film based on the scary book was made in 1973, starring Edward Fox and Michael Lonsdale, but now the horror story is finally coming to our television shows.

Sky’s official synopsis states: “The Jackal, a peerless and extremely elusive lone gunman, makes his living by carrying out murders for top fees.

“But after his latest murder, he meets a dogged British intelligence officer who sets out to find the Jackal, leaving a trail of destruction in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.”

Redmayne, who also serves as executive producer of the series, will play the villainous Jackal alongside Lashana Lynch. in the new show, which reinterprets Forsyth’s successful novel in a modern setting.

And according to Mirror, the Brit, just like his character, will also earn a fortune thanks to The day of the jackal.

Redmayne is reportedly set to earn £10 million for the ten episodes – but somehow that makes sense.

The show is said to be Sky’s most expensive series ever, with a whopping budget of £100 million. The makers are keeping their fingers crossed that the series will be a global hit, as it will also be streamed on Peacock.

So, honestly, it’s no wonder they didn’t want to skimp on talent.

A source told the publication: “Many television companies and networks are struggling with budget cuts, but not with high-end dramas for a global audience with the involvement of the streamer.

“If you can do a deal with one of them, it can cost a fortune.”

The Day of the Jackal is produced for Sky and Peacock by the production company behind Downton Abbey, Carnival Films, while Top boy Author Ronan Bennett is responsible for the screenplay.

Gareth Neame, CEO and executive producer of Carnival Films, said they were “incredibly lucky to have an actor of Eddie’s caliber as our jackaland praised the “top-notch creative team” working on the series.

Many familiar faces will be there The Day of the Jackal also, as the cast includes House of Money And Grab Star Ursula Corberó, Game of Thrones Actor Charles Dance and The Walking Dead Graduate Eleanor Matsuura.

Redmayne had previously revealed that he was inspired by the one and only David Bowie when transforming into the Jackal.

Speaking about how he perfected his character’s facial expressions with movement coach Alex Reynolds, he said: “We found this brilliant interview with David Bowie from the ’70s or ’80s, a rare opportunity where he was just interviewed as himself and not in huge costumes.”

“He talked about using costumes, makeup and personalities to disguise yourself. It was fascinating.”

The Day of the Jackal airs on Sky Atlantic and Now on November 7, so mark that date in your diary if you want to see Redmayne’s multi-million pound performance.

Sky declined to comment on speculation about the star’s earnings.
