8 Labor Day Weekend Events in Austin: Pop Girl Summer Rave, Luxury Boat Party and More

Labor Day weekend is just around the corner and that means one thing: it’s time to live a little and let off some steam!

Labor Day 2024 is on Monday, September 2nd, but the weekend before the holiday is a busy one in Austin, Texas.

From summer pop girl raves to witches markets, here are eight unique events to check out in the greater Austin area this Labor Day weekend.

There’s no better way to end the week than joining Cheer Up Charlies for an hours-long dance party. To celebrate the end of pop girl summer, DJs Boyfriend ATX, Ruby Knight and Lavender Thug will be spinning hits from Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and more to get you moving this Labor Day weekend, so don’t miss it!

*Note: This event is for those ages 21 and older.

When: Friday, August 30. Doors open at 9pm
Where: Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River St., Austin, Texas.
Tickets: Admission is free.

Be inspired by the North Loop Pop-Up Market this Labor Day weekend! The event will feature 45 creative small shops. These local shops will offer a selection of unique items for sale including vintage clothing, art, jewelry, records, books and more.

When: Saturday, August 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Beard Brands Campus, 1000 E. 51st St., Austin, Texas.
Tickets: Free.

Stock up on all the witchy stuff you need as Labor Day rolls around and fall makes its grand entrance. Vendors include local dispensaries like Yarrow & Sage, Apothecary Blends, and Full Moon Apothecary, as well as local jewelers like Trippy Velvet. Divine Spark Consulting will also be on hand to fulfill all of your psychic needs.

When: Saturday, August 31, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Drinks Backyard, 6328 S. Highway 183, Austin, Texas.
Tickets: Free.

Help close out another successful year of Front Festival by attending the official swim session “after” pool party! Remember, all bodies are pool bodies, so come dressed in whatever your heart desires and splash the day away.

*Note: This event is for people aged 18 and over.

When: Sunday, September 1st, from 1pm to 5pm
Where: The LINE Austin Pool Deck, 111 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.
Tickets: Day passes for swim sessions are $10.

Come to Big Laugh Comedy for an evening of stand-up comedy and strong cocktails. Who knows, there might even be a celebrity appearance during the show.

When: Sunday, 1 September, 8 p.m.
Where: Vulcan Gas Company, 418 E. Sixth St., Austin, Texas.

Austin’s Boat Tours is providing five luxury pontoon boats for a Labor Day party on Lake Travis! The boats will dock at Devil’s Cove, also known as party central. Barbecue food will be provided, but guests should bring their own beverages.

When: Monday, September 2nd. All guests must arrive by 3:15pm. Boats depart at 4pm.
Where: Austin’s Boat Tours, 16200 E. Lakeshore Drive, Austin, Texas.
Tickets: $75 per person, plus fees. You are allowed to bring your own drinks to the party.

Honor the late Jimmy Buffett while celebrating Labor Day at Cork & Barrell’s Jimmy Buffett Farewell Party.

There will be live music, food and drink offerings, games, giveaways and more. Margaritaville is a state of mind, after all!
