La Liga giants Barcelona have added another name to their list of potential defensive players ahead of the fast-approaching transfer deadline.

This is according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, which on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in the Catalan capital.

After FC Barcelona’s position seemed to be well filled so far, they are now apparently actively looking for a new central defender for the coming season.

This comes after Eric García joined the long-term injuries of Ronald Araújo and Andreas Christensen this week.

After the departure of young player Mika Faye was also approved, the Blaugrana suddenly seem to have frighteningly few options in the center of defense.

Deco and Co., in turn, have started looking for reinforcements for the short-term transfer period.

And on Tuesday, an insight was given into some of the leading names on the Camp Nou wishlist.

According to a report by World Sports:

“Cristhian Mosquera (Valencia) and Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen) have been added to the list of possible reinforcements.”

Meanwhile, rumors from France suggest that Barca is closely monitoring a third profile: Mohamed Simakan.

In fact, according to FootMercato, initial contacts have already been made with the all-round stopper’s club, RB Leipzig.

However, it seems highly unlikely that Simakan could sign a contract before the Spanish transfer deadline on Friday, as those responsible at the Red Bull Arena are demanding a sum of around 50 million euros to approve such a deal.
