Prada brings K-pop star Karina from Aespa as brand ambassador
NEW PRADA SENSATION: Prada adds Karina, the lead singer of South Korean girl band Aespa, to its list of brand ambassadors.
With the appointment of the 24-year-old artist, the Italian luxury brand is penetrating even deeper into the K-pop phenomenon after appointing the seven members of South Korean music sensation Enhypen as brand ambassadors last year.
Karina attended the Prada Fall 2024 men’s fashion show in Milan in January wearing one of the brand’s viral silk gazar sheath dresses with layers of superfine organza underneath from the brand’s Spring 2024 women’s collection.
The South Korean singer and rapper, whose real name is Yu Ji-min, was revealed as a member of the girl group Aespa, formed by the agency SM Entertainment in 2020, ahead of the release of the band’s debut single, “Black Mamba,” in November of the same year.

Known for popularizing the metaverse concept and for their hyperpop game, the girl group has gained local and international fame and released their first studio album titled “Armageddon” last May, which includes the hit single “Supernova.”
Praised for her numerous talents, Karina was also signed as a member of the South Korean supergroup band Got the Beat, which was also formed by SM Entertainment in 2022 and consists of seven artists who already debuted with the agency and had successful careers as solo artists or as part of other bands.
In this role, Karina joins other South Korean artists including actor Kim Tae-ri, singers Jeon So-mi and Sana Minatozaki – the latter a Japanese-born, South Korean-based artist who has been part of the girl group Twice since 2015 – as well as singer, songwriter and actor Jaehyun, a member of the boy band NCT, and Enhypen.
Other Prada brand ambassadors include Harris Dickinson, Damson Idris, Hunter Schafer, Letitia Wright, Jia Ling and Ma Yili.
