49ers to expand Levi’s Stadium for $200 million ahead of Super Bowl and World Championship

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Levi’s Stadium is being spruced up for two major events in 2026 – the Super Bowl and the World Cup.

The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they will invest $200 million in the 10-year-old stadium, including investing in improved Wi-Fi technology this season and video boards in 2025 that the team says will give the stadium the league’s largest 4K display.

Additionally, the stadium’s club areas and more than 120 of its luxury suites will be upgraded with everything from new carpet and furniture to new technology. Half of that work was completed before the upcoming NFL season, while the other half will be completed next year. Other projects include seamless concession stands on the main concourse and the creation of a new club, the Graton Winners Club, which will serve more than 2,000 fans and feature two open-air bars. A new LED field lighting system is also expected to brighten the field’s appearance during primetime games.

Last year, NFL owners approved the 49ers’ bid to host Super Bowl LX, scheduled for February 8, 2026. It will be the second Super Bowl at Levi’s since opening in 2014. Later in the year, Levi’s will host six World Cup games, five in the group stage and one in the round of 32.
