57-year-old man dies in plane crash in Cape

The multi-vehicle accident on Route 6 caused serious injuries and damage.
According to Massachusetts State Police, a 57-year-old Chatham man died Monday afternoon when he was struck by an oncoming truck on Route 6.
At about 3:15 p.m., state police responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash with serious injuries on Route 6 eastbound near Exit 85 in Brewster.
A preliminary investigation by State Police revealed that a 2020 Isuzu truck driven by a 24-year-old Yarmouth man was traveling westbound when it crossed from the one-lane highway into the eastbound lane and collided with a 2006 Toyota Tundra.
The Tundra was driven by Edward Footer, who died of his injuries at the crash scene.
The Isuzu truck also struck a 1997 GMC Safari driven by a 40-year-old man from Yarmouth who was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the Isuzu truck, whose identity was not released by state police, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the accident. Brewster Fire Department, Police Department and MassDOT assisted officers at the scene.
