(CBS-DETROIT) – Some residents in Grosse Pointe Shores will experience water outages Tuesday due to a burst water main.

According to the Grosse Pointe Shores Department of Public Safety, a water main burst near S. Edgewood and Lake Shore.

Repairs are expected to begin around 9:30 a.m. According to police, water will be turned off in the areas of North and South Edgewood Street, Blairmoor Court and Putnam Place.

Officials say once water supplies are restored, residents should let tap water run until it runs clear.

When CBS News Detroit contacted police, they said they did not know an estimated time for water service to be restored.

No further information has been provided so far.
