Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Real Valladolid earlier this week was not the smoothest performance from Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Only Federico Valverde’s free kick goal allowed The Royal seemed to effortlessly break through the visitors’ defence, even Kylian Mbappe had problems in front of goal.

Although the Frenchman failed to score that night, Endrick, the team’s second new signing this summer, scored in the 96th minute to score his first goal as a Real Madrid player.

A costly goal

The fact that the team’s newest Brazilian signing hit the ground running can only be good news for Ancelotti. From Real Madrid’s perspective, however, the goal is costly.

As revealed by Sports world, The transfer agreement between Real Madrid and Palmeiras included several variables, including a fixed transfer fee for each goal, assist or penalty won by the player.

The Royalmust therefore pay the Brazilian club 35,000 euros for each goal contributed or penalty won by the player until 2030, so that each goal scored by him is worth this amount.

The Spanish champions had to pay Palmeiras 35,000 euros when Endrick scored his first goal for the team against Valladolid on Sunday.

It is not clear if there is a cap on the number of goals Real Madrid will have to pay Palmeiras for, but the Brazilian side can earn up to €12.5 million in total in variable amounts.

What are the other clauses?

As the Spanish newspaper revealed, given the structure of the deal, Endrick’s transfer to Real Madrid could well result in the club having to shell out considerable sums for variables.

Apart from the aforementioned goal and penalty bonus, Real Madrid must pay Palmeiras 75,000 euros for each game in which Endrick is in the starting line-up and plays at least 45 minutes.

Winning La Liga and having the young player appear in at least eight starting matches will cost the club €500,000. If he makes 18 appearances in the starting eleven, the amount will double.

If Real Madrid wins the UCL, the club will have to pay Palmeiras either 1 or 2 million euros, depending on whether the player has played at least four or eight games as a regular player.

The remaining variables relate to individual awards: the Brazilian team will receive €1 million if it wins the Golden Boy or the Kopa Trophy or finishes in the top three in the Ballon d’Or or FIFA The Best.

If he wins one of the latter two titles, Real Madrid will have to double the amount and pay two million euros.
