Sean “Diddy” Combs asked a federal judge on Monday, August 26, to dismiss a lawsuit filed against him by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who had repeatedly accused him of sexual abuse and other misconduct.

The lawsuit filed by Jones against Diddy in February – one of many filed against him in the past year – is filled with “false fabrications,” “sensational theatrics,” “legally meaningless allegations” and “blatant falsehoods” whose sole purpose is to “create and exploit media hype to extract a settlement” with the music mogul, according to the complaint filed in New York federal court and accessed by Page Six, The Guardian and other similar outlets.

Jones is suing Combs for $30 million, claiming in federal court documents that he was coerced into sexual acts, drugged and groped while working for the tycoon between 2022 and 2023.

Jones amended his February complaint the following month, accusing the tycoon of being part of a “RICO enterprise” and engaging in a “sex trafficking enterprise.” Diddy’s latest court filings, according to Page Six, are calling for the RICO charges against him to be dismissed. They are also calling for Jones’ sexual assault charges against Combs to be dismissed because the plaintiff fails to provide the most basic facts, such as where and when an alleged instance of assault occurred or what allegedly occurred.

Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff of Sher Tremonte, said in a statement on Monday about the lawsuit: “Mr. Jones’ lawsuit is pure fiction, a shameless attempt to create a media frenzy and get a quick settlement. There was no RICO conspiracy, and Mr. Jones was not threatened, manipulated, attacked or trafficked. We look forward to proving in court that all of Mr. Jones’ claims are fabricated and must be dismissed.”

When Jones filed his lawsuit last February, several lawsuits alleging sexual and other abuse had already been filed against Combs.

For those who may not know, Combs’ homes in Florida and California were raided by federal authorities in March in connection with a sex trafficking investigation. In May, CNN aired video from a hotel surveillance device showing the R&B singer punching and kicking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby. The footage exactly matched a description in a lawsuit she filed against Diddy in November, which was settled the following day.

A few days after the video was released, Combs posted an apology on social media, saying his actions were inexcusable. Aside from that admission, Diddy has denied all allegations against him in multiple court cases, stating in a social media post in December, “Let me be very clear. I did not do any of the horrible things I’m accused of.”
