During the PC Gaming Show 2024 stream, it was announced (via a very bloody teaser) that the release date of Killing Floor 3 will be sometime in Beginning of 2025. However, we don’t have a concrete date for the next game yet, folks.

It’s been almost a year since we first heard about Killing Floor 3 during Gamescom 2023. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any new release information during Gamescom 2024 either. While we wait for more news, we expect the game to launch in the first quarter of 2025, which could be either January, February, or March.

However, this is just speculation on our part for now. While we look out for the latest copy news, you can check out our Killing Floor Reviewif you want to refresh your knowledge of the series before the new game is released.

Although Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have not been confirmed yet, they can technically support the game, so it is still possible that we will hear news about Killing Floor 3 coming to these consoles as well. Yes, Nintendo has not had a Killing Floor game in its catalog history, but we can still hope that the bloody FPS will make it into the list of upcoming Switch games in the future!

Killing Floor 3 Trailer

Fans were treated to a new gameplay trailer for Killing Floor 3 during the PC Gaming Show 2024, and let’s just say it doesn’t disappoint in terms of carnage factor. The clip shows a player mowing down hordes of mutants with a hail of bullets. There are explosions, knives penetrating the heads of undead, flying drones, and much more.

We also get a first look at some of the new specimens, such as a giant monster with a blade attached to its forehead. Of course, we also see the return of some iconic ZEDs in the teaser, such as some newly upgraded Crawlers, so don’t worry; all of our favorites are still here for us to destroy in one of the hottest upcoming horror games.

Gameplay of Killing Floor 3

In Killing Floor 3, you join the rebel group Nightfall and fight for the survival of humanity. The game is set in the year 2091 and revolves around the mega-corporation Horzine, which has created a fearsome army of bioengineered monsters called ZEDs.

In six-player co-op, it’s up to you and your friends to fight your way through hordes of mutilated specimens that threaten the fate of our species as a whole. From the gameplay teaser above, posted during Gamescom 2024, to the Killing Floor 3 preview we saw in 2023we know fans can look forward to the same tried and tested formula: survive, collect money, unlock skills, upgrade your arsenal, and then dive into a new round.

However, there are some notable changes to the typical Killing Floor gameplay. First, customization will be a big deal in the upcoming game. There is a fully integrated mod system for all of the in-game arsenal weapons, and you can make your ZED killing experience truly unique and personal. The new game will also have more dynamic enemies, improvements to player movement, and include the new environmental traps.

This means you can run, climb, and employ new strategies as you try to survive waves of ZEDs. The recent gameplay trailer also revealed three new playable Nightfall Specialists, each with their own unique skills and abilities, as well as Horzine’s newest abomination, the Impaler.

We will be on the lookout for further news. In the meantime, you can check out our list of best horror games of all time if you need something spooky to keep you entertained while we wait for the glorious return of all those crawlers and fleshpounds.
