Best Buy slashes $40 off the price of Amazon’s home security system, bringing it down to under $60 as shoppers rave, “There’s no other comparable.”

BEST Buy has slashed the price of a popular home security system and customers can’t get enough of it.

The Blink Outdoor 4 wireless security system is available for just $59.99, down from $99.99, after a significant price reduction of $40.

Blink was acquired by Amazon in 2017 when it was still a startup. Since then, the company has dominated the market.

Customers can optionally purchase the popular surveillance cameras in packs of two, three or, if one camera is not enough, in packs of five.

The camera features 1080p HD live view, infrared night vision and two-way audio.

Other Features This includes improved motion detection, which detects visitors’ movements with greater accuracy.

Customers can also purchase a Blink subscription, which is optional but unlocks a variety of additional tools.

The subscription is sold separately and allows users to store surveillance footage in the cloud, but you get a free 30-day trial when you purchase the camera.

Blink Outdoor 4 is also compatible with Alexa-enabled devices, allowing users to disarm the security system and more using just their voice.

The camera comes with a mounting kit, a USB cable, two AA lithium batteries and a power adapter.

The Sync Module 2 is also included free of charge. The hub plugs into a power outlet to relay commands and network details to devices in the system.

It connects to Wi-Fi to control the activity of up to ten Blink devices.

An optional feature called Local Storage allows users to save clips directly to a USB drive connected to the hub’s USB port.

Blink and Ring – the surprising story

Blink and Ring may seem like rivals in the home security camera space, but their relationship is more complicated.

Both companies are owned by Amazon and are therefore sister companies.

The e-commerce giant spent $90 million to acquire Blink in December 2017.

At the time, it was a crowdfunded startup that had developed an energy-efficient chip for its smart home security cameras.

In January 2018, Blink introduced its first video doorbell. Just one month later, Amazon paid $1 billion for Ring.
