Sony’s new affordable wireless earphones offer voice isolation and quick pairing

Sony has announced the $59.99 WF-C510 wireless earbuds, the latest budget offering in its “Truly Wireless” line. They’re fairly bare bones, but offer better voice isolation and slightly longer battery life than their predecessor, all while costing $30 less. The earbuds come in four colors – black, blue, white and yellow – and are available to pre-order now on Sony’s website or on Amazon.

Not only do the WF-C510 earbuds have a name that rolls off the tongue, but in addition to voice isolation, they also feature Ambient Sound Mode (Sony’s transparency mode that brings in external noise). They are also the “smallest closed earbuds” Sony has ever made. According to Sony’s specs list, they can provide up to five hours of “continuous communication time” or up to 11 hours of general use with Ambient Sound turned off. An additional 11 hours can be added with the charging case.

Sony says the earbuds can connect to up to two Bluetooth devices at once and support Google’s Fast Pair and Microsoft’s Swift Pair features for speedy device connections. They’re also IPX4-rated, meaning they can withstand splashes of water or a sweaty run (but you shouldn’t drop them in a pool).

The WF-C510 is expected to begin shipping to customers on September 9.
