English Dub Review: VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral Because I Forgot to Turn Off My Stream ‘Episode 6’

overview

Awayuki’s schedule is packed with collaborations of all kinds, from participating in an animal-themed quiz stream hosted by Eirai to presenting the weekly Live-On News with Shion.

Our opinion

This episode knew how to hold my attention when it came to absurdity. Since the offensive game show was outrageous enough, Shion turning into a “mommy” character and bottle feeding Awayuki was more than unexpected. While some viewers may find this bizarre scenario funny, it definitely pushed boundaries in a way that will leave a lasting impression. Hareru’s ritual of blinking her monitor for better gacha pulls combined with the wild remark about “wombs” really threw me for a loop.

At least it managed to balance out the madness with some surprisingly wholesome moments. After the chaotic baby stream ended, Shion’s praise for Awayuki highlighted the positive influence she had on the other VTubers. This recognition from Shion probably meant a lot to Awayuki and added a touch of sentimentality to the proceedings. The pacifier test stream, however, made me wonder what was going on in their heads and if it would lead to something even funnier in the long run.

Overall, this episode is a prime example of the show’s unique blend of madness and charm. The animal quiz, the collaboration with VTuber, and the unpredictable antics kept the suspense high and left viewers entertained and confused at the same time. Despite the stark and chaotic nature, the script remains sharp and each episode offers a mix of humor, shock, and even a bit of heart. Now I wonder how they will outdo themselves this time?
