On the pink premiere carpet for Part 1 of Season 4, writers and executive producers Joe Murphy, Grant Sloss and Alison Brown talked about a new character viewers can expect to see in Part 2.

“We’re actually introducing a new character in the second half of the season. It’s nice to see Emily act as a mentor to Paris,” Murphy told Deadline. “Mindy has taken (Emily) under her wing, so if she could do the same for someone else, we can explore that a little bit in the second half. It doesn’t go as well as Emily had hoped, but that’s the way the show is.”

Writer and EP Alison Brown hinted at a connection to this new character.

“The character we meet in the second half of the season is related to someone, so we learn more about these other characters, which is nice,” she said.

What can viewers expect from part 2 of season four? Emily in Paris?

Netflix announced that parts of the fourth season were filmed in Rome, a location that was not featured in part 1.

In an interview with Deadline, star and executive producer Lily Collins also gave a sneak peek at some snow that will be seen later in Season 4.

“We shot a few episodes out of order because we shot in the fall and winter this year. So we had to go to the mountains and there was snow, and we had to make sure we had the best snowfall,” she said. “So we shot certain episodes that are in the second drop before the end of the first drop.”

Collins also mentioned a possible new love interest of Emily, who was photographed by paparazzi during the production of the show.

“All I can say is that paparazzi photos have surfaced where you can see that she has a new person in Rome and is spending time with them, but I will say that Emily has a very fun vacation in Rome, and Emily wouldn’t be Emily without a little geometry lesson,” Collins said.

What happened in Emily in Paris Season 4 part 1?

In Part 1 of the Netflix soap opera, Emily feels more rooted in Paris and her relationships – not the romantic ones. She is faced with a choice between Alfie and Gabriel after going out of her way to find Camille, who disappeared after her big revelations last season. Emily makes her decision at a masked ball in Episode 3 and works on that relationship, but some drastic changes at the end of Part 1 put the lives of the entire ensemble in question.

Sylvie opens up about her work for JVMA owner Louis de Léon (Pierre Deny), while Julian leaves the ship to work for the company where Mindy’s boyfriend Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman) also works. Meanwhile, Mindy Mindy and the band prepare for the Eurovision Song Contest, but the budget is running tight.

What happened in season 3 of Emily in Paris?

Last season, Camille called off her planned wedding to Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) because she knows he and Emily have feelings for each other, but it turns out she’s pregnant. Mindy (Ashley Park) had a falling out with her bandmates Benoît (Kevin Dias) and Étienne (Ji Xuan Mao), preferring her childhood friend and boarding school mate Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman), but they have reunited to compete in a major singing competition in Europe.

Sylvie also rekindled her romance with her husband Laurent G (Arnaud Binard).

Will there be further seasons of Emily in Paris?

Creator Darren Star left this question open when asked if Season 4 was intended as the final chapter after the double extension.

“I definitely think the show has a life beyond the next season. It’s not necessarily meant to be the final chapter. I think like any show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everyone feels like it’s time to stop,” he told Deadline. “And I don’t think this show is limited by the number of seasons, but by everyone’s enthusiasm and excitement to make it and tell stories about these characters.”
