Charlotte Hornets 2024-25 Schedule Breakdown

Charlotte Hornets 2024-25 Schedule Breakdown

The NBA has released the full schedule for the 2024-25 season, just as unspectacularly as usual. You can view the Charlotte Hornets’ full schedule here.

The Hornets open the season on Wednesday, October 23rd, away against the Houston Rockets. The home game begins on Saturday, the 26th, against the Miami Heat. The Hornets have four group games in the In-Season Tournament in November and early December:

  • Tuesday, November 12 – at Orlando Magic
  • Tuesday, November 19 – at the Brooklyn Nets
  • Friday, November 29 – against New York Knicks (game start: 12:00)
  • Tuesday, December 3 – against Philadelphia 76ers

The Hornets have had some luck in scheduling their group matches. Their two toughest opponents, on paper, are both playing at home, while they have their two easier opponents away. It’s a favorable draw.

Some more notes and highlights from the schedule:

  • The Hornets only have one prime-time game, January 17 on ESPN against the Bulls, just in case both Ball brothers are actually healthy.
  • There are two major West Coast road trips in early January and late February, with the latter coming right after the All-Star break, which is probably as ideal as it gets.
  • The Hornets have three straight road games before the All-Star break, which means they technically play eight straight road games around the All-Star break.
  • The Hornets will play nine consecutive home games between January 24 and February 7.
  • The Hornets play their four games against the Celtics in two matchups. They host Boston on back-to-back nights to start November. And they finish the season with back-to-back games in Boston. Depending on how the season goes, that could be either a blessing or a curse.
  • The Hornets have played 11 of their last 18 games away.
  • The Hornets have three full New Year’s days off, from December 30th to January 3rd.

All in all, there isn’t much to be taken from the schedule. There is nothing out of the ordinary that will have a major impact on the Hornets’ season.
