Motihari: In Bihar, a bizarre incident was reported in which doctors in East Champaran district successfully removed several metal objects, including a key ring, a small knife and nail clippers, from the abdomen of a young man.

The 22-year-old man was taken to a private hospital in Motihari, the district headquarters of East Champaran, by his family after he complained of severe stomach pain. Doctors performed a surgery to remove the metal objects from his stomach on Sunday.

How were metal objects removed from the teenager’s stomach?

Dr Amit Kumar, the head of the medical team that performed the operation, said: “The youth was undergoing psychiatric treatment. X-rays revealed that there were metal objects in his stomach. During the operation, a key ring was first removed.”

“Later, we recovered two keys, a ten-centimeter-long knife and two nail clippers from his stomach. When we asked the youth, he said he had recently started swallowing metal objects. Now the youth is fine and his condition is improving,” the doctor said.

The teenager, who has mental health problems and is currently taking medication, underwent a successful operation. According to doctors, the patient is recovering well and will soon be discharged from the hospital.
