Demi Moore says she wants to remove the stigma surrounding farting

Demi Moore wants to remove the stigma surrounding farting. The 61-year-old actress and mother of Rumer (35), Scout (33) and Tallulah (30) with her ex-husband Bruce Willis has teamed up with antacid manufacturer Wonderbelly to promote its new picture book “An Adult’s Guide To Farts”. She hopes to help others feel less “ashamed” of their flatulence.

She told People: “Digestive health is an important but often taboo subject. As babies, we are celebrated for bodily functions like pooping and farting, but as adults, we often hide these normal processes. Conversations I had with Lucas, a founder of Wonderbelly, inspired the book ‘An Adult’s Guide to Farts’ and emphasized that embracing these functions is better for our physical well-being.”

“While the book is fun and light-hearted, it also contains a message of self-acceptance. A read about farts that is intended to put a smile on readers’ faces and make them feel more informed and less ashamed of their bodies.”

Today, the “Ghost” star posted a video on Instagram reading from the book, asking, “What’s all the fuss about?” She urged her followers to remember that there’s “no shame” in passing gas and reminded them that “we all do it.”

Wonderbelly founder Noah Kraft said, “These are still the same brands that have been around for generations, and no one has challenged these companies to live up to the values of a younger generation experiencing these issues. This book is a way for us to further our mission of destigmatizing and helping people accept normal bodily functions.”

He continued: “Our big mission is to destigmatize issues from eating disorders to farting. There are things we should talk about a little more openly.”
