FOX has extended its successful quiz series, The floorthe most popular game show of the season, hosted and produced by Emmy nominee Rob Lowe (9-1-1: Lone Star), for two additional seasons to air in the upcoming 2024-2025 season, Michael Thorn, President of the FOX Television Network, announced today.

Based on the fast-growing global format, The floor premiered in the U.S. in January and was FOX’s most-watched unscripted Tuesday debut series in over 13 years, FOX’s largest cross-platform audience for an unscripted premiere in two years, and the network’s most-streamed game show premiere ever. In seasons two and three of The floorcreated by John de Mols Talpa ((Big Brother, Deal or No Deal, The Voice) and produced by Eureka Productions (Farmer seeks wife, The quiz with balls), 100 contestants (up from 81 in the first season) will stand their ground on a giant, interactive LED game floor with 100 squares, each representing a different quiz category. The first challenger, randomly selected, must select one of their fellow competitors in the neighborhood to face off against in an epic quiz duel in the opponent’s category. The winner takes over the loser’s square, gaining valuable ground while expanding their territory, while the loser leaves the game. The winner must then decide: do they go on the offensive to dominate a larger portion of the game floor? Or do they let the floor select a new challenger? The contestant who gains complete control of the floor takes home a life-changing grand prize.

In addition, FOX Entertainment has entered into a first-look deal with Lowe to co-develop unscripted series to air on FOX. Series released under this agreement will be produced by FOX’s own unscripted series studio, FOX Alternative Entertainment.

“The fans loved the first season of The floor so much so that we have ordered two more seasons of this groundbreaking game show and are already making plans to make our epic battle of the wits even bigger and bolder,” said Thorn. “It has also been a huge win to have such a big star as Rob Lowe as our host and both our viewers and competitors can’t wait to see him in action again.”

“I couldn’t be happier with The floor phenomenon and the opportunity to develop more unscripted projects with my partners at FOX,” added Lowe.
