ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (August 25, 2024) – Following the conclusion of the 2024 AIG Women’s Open, U.S. captain Stacy Lewis has learned the names of the nine automatic qualifiers who will represent the Red, White and Blue at the 2024 Solheim Cup, which will be played September 13-15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.

Nelly Korda, No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Ranking, who has six wins in the 2024 LPGA Tour season, leads the list of seven players named to the U.S. Solheim Cup team via points scoring. She is joined by (in order of ranking) Lilia Vu, Lauren Coughlin, Ally Ewing, Allisen Corpuz, Megan Khang and Andrea Lee.

In addition, Rose Zhang and Alison Lee will represent the United States as the two highest-ranked American women in the Rolex Rankings who are not among the seven qualifiers from the U.S. Solheim Cup team points ranking.

“I’m just happy that the team is now complete. A lot of this crew will be here in 2023, so a lot of them have experience,” said Lewis. “We had five who qualified before the week started and I’m happy to have Megan and Andrea back. They were instrumental in last year’s success.”

Alison Lee will be making her second appearance on the U.S. Solheim Cup team and her first since 2015. The nine-year gap between Solheim Cup appearances is the longest in U.S. team history; Sherri Steinhauer went seven years between U.S. team appearances in 2000 and 2007.

“I’m really pleased for Alison Lee to be back in the Solheim Cup, having had the longest break between Solheim Cups,” said Lewis. “It’s been nine years since she last tried and I’m delighted for her to be trying it for the second time, having a great experience and doing it at home too.”

2024 will be the fourth Solheim Cup appearance for Ewing, Khang and Korda, who all played on the U.S. teams in 2019, 2021 and 2023. Corpuz, Andrea Lee, Vu and Zhang will also be making their second Solheim Cup appearance, while Coughlin will be a newcomer to the U.S. team.

Lewis will also receive three captain suggestions to complete the 12-man American roster. Those players will be announced on Tuesday, August 27 at 10 a.m. EDT.

At the 2023 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, players began earning points toward the US Solheim Cup Team Points Standings.
