A woman experienced a terrible ordeal when the Elevator she suddenly started consuming in her apartment in Bangkok crashed from the 32nd floor and stopped on the 15th floor, leaving her shaken.

A TikTok user with the handle @somo_41456 shared a harrowing video of the incident that took place yesterday, August 15, in a residential complex. In her post, she described how the elevator unexpectedly plunged several floors down.

“If this had happened to an elderly person, they could have had a heart attack!

“The elevator fell from the 32nd floor and stopped on the 15th floor. I crawled out of the elevator shaking with fear. The residence staff said they were watching the cameras.”

The user was visibly distressed and shaking after the near-catastrophic incident. As the elevator doors opened, the residence staff came to help her. She explained what had happened, still in shock from the incident.

After the video was posted, it quickly garnered numerous comments from concerned viewers.

“We should press the button at each floor when the elevator crashes. That will help slow it down.”

“Everything happened so quickly. If only she had had the presence of mind to press the alarm button.”

“It probably just slipped and didn’t fall. If it had actually fallen, it would have been much more violent. Elevators have multiple braking and safety systems. The descent was part of the design of the system; actual falls are quite rare.”

The TikTok video, accompanied by the user’s original audio, sparked a discussion about elevator safety and emergency procedures. While some viewers offered practical advice, others reassured them about the safety mechanisms in place in modern elevators.

The management of the residential complex has not yet issued an official statement on the incident, but the event left a lasting impression on the TikTok user and many others who saw her post, KhaoSod reported.

In related news, on August 13, a technician, believed to be a Thai national, tragically died while repairing an elevator at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
