KK Willis takes over as new head coach of the girls basketball team at St. Aloysius

St. Aloysius announced KK Willis as the new head coach of the girls basketball team Wednesday morning.

Willis was a star basketball player at Porter’s Chapel Academy, where she helped the Lady Eagles to a state championship in her freshman season. Despite enduring four knee surgeries in high school, Willis averaged 14 points per game her freshman year, 19.3 points per game her sophomore year and 16 points per game her senior year, where she was named Conference 7-A MVP.

Willis will replace Savannah Buck, who resigned to become head softball coach at ACCS.

“I am thankful to God that I have been named the new basketball coach for the Lady Flashes,” Willis said. “I am so thankful to the VCS administration for entrusting me with this position. I am very excited for the privilege of working with many of these girls that I have prayed for for years and meeting new girls that I will add to my prayer list.”

I would like to thank my family for their support and encouragement. To the VCS administration, students, fans and St. Al alumni: The girls and I will do our best not to let you down. Lady Flashes, I am ready for you. Let’s do it!”
