Some residents of Fonda have limited water boiling time after a water pipe burst

A sheriff’s office spokesman said Saturday that a boil water order went into effect in Montgomery County following a reported water main break.

A news release from the Town of Fonda said a water main burst on Wednesday and residents in the area around Route 5 West and Hickory Hill Road were asked to boil their water before using it.

“We will be collecting and retesting water samples specifically for this area on Monday,” village officials said in a press release. “We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

According to a press release, bottled water will be available to affected residents at the village community center on Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
