The Baltimore Orioles overcame a 2-0 deficit to beat the Houston Astros 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. The decisive hit was a three-run double by young Jackson Holliday. The 20-year-old, who is still considered the most promising talent in the sport, was not in the starting lineup but definitely made an impression.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, his throw into the gap also tied the story of a special major league game:

Youngest players with 3+ RBI as pinch hitter, last 90 seasons:

02.08.71 Jeff Burroughs: 20 years, 148 days
19.05.64 Dalton Jones: 20 years, 161 days
Today Jackson Holliday: 20 years, 264 days

Holliday’s batting average is only .175, but he has looked much more relaxed in his second major league outing. He has five home runs and 19 RBIs in just 114 at-bats. The former No. 1 overall pick should form the O’s center field alongside Gunnar Henderson for the next few years.

Baltimore is now 76-55 this season. They are 0.5 games behind the New York Yankees in the American League East and currently hold the first wild card spot in the American League.

Jackson’s father (Matt Holliday) played 15 years in the major leagues with the Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees. He spent parts of eight years in St. Louis, six with Colorado, one with New York and one with Oakland. He was selected as an All-Star seven times, received MVP votes in eight different seasons and finished fifth in the National League Rookie of the Year voting in 2004.
