John Cena bought a fake Lambo in 2003 but got it back last week
John Cena is a legendary celebrity icon, and like any millionaire, he bought a whole bunch of cars—including a fake Lamborghini that he wasn’t proud of.
You read that right – a fake Lambo to drive away in, because why not?
Keep in mind that this was early in his career and, surprisingly, he had never driven this car until a week ago.

How John Cena got a fake Lamborghini
We all know how much John Cena loves his cars and it shows.
While his car collection may be considerable, the former WWE Superstar also owns a rather modest everyday vehicle.
In an interview on the Club Shay Shay In a show published on YouTube, John Cena revealed how he once got a Lamborghini kit car.
This came up as the subject of his “worst purchase ever,” but the man viewed it as a lesson.
“I didn’t want to afford a Lamborghini, so I bought a fake,” he said.
The kit car was equipped with a BMW V12 engine and John Cena found it suitable.
He added: “That was 2003. I found a company that wanted to do it. They put a V12 in it and I thought, ‘Man, that’s the same thing. It looks pretty good. So, it looks great.'”
As tempting as the Lambo may have been, this was the beginning of a very long lesson.
He only got the fake Lamborghini after two years of waiting, and the car arrived in a desolate condition.
Parts were missing and the engine had to be tuned due to the unusual timing of the two Chevy V6 engines.
He added: “The car is not drivable, so I took it to a garage. The year is 2005.”
Still driving after 20 years
And now, after nearly two decades, John Cena got the keys to his fake Lamborghini kit car last week.
Exactly, last week.
He had to send it to ten workshops and only the last one could repair it.
That’s certainly a lot of time, money and patience for a Lambo – and a fake one at that.
Most celebrities in Hollywood don’t bother buying a Lamborghini, but Cena isn’t your typical celebrity face either.
Although the kit car runs great now, Cena said that for the price he paid, he could have bought and assembled two half Lambos.
In the end it was a very expensive, but good lesson.
Many of us wouldn’t have been able to wait 20 years, but Cena never let that get him down.
