New York soccer coach sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl

A youth soccer coach has been sentenced to seven years in prison for abusing a 10-year-old girl who attended one of his sports camps in Brooklyn. But it was not the first time he was accused of abusing a young player.

After a jury found him guilty of first-degree sexual abuse last month, 52-year-old Stanislav Rozovsky was sentenced to prison on Thursday.

Prosecutors allege that Rozovsky, a coach and owner of a youth soccer program in Marine Park, offered the girl ice cream in August 2022 and lured her into his van.

When the girl tried to get out of the van, he grabbed her, pushed her back in, caressed her breast and kissed her.

According to the prosecutor, the perpetrator said to the girl: “I love you.”

The cruel abuse was reminiscent of a tragic incident in 2011, when Rozovsky was accused of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl in one of his youth teams.

However, the trial of the sex crime stalled after the girl refused to testify, sources said.

Instead, prosecutors initiated proceedings to suspend his driving license against him in July 2012, which resulted in a prison sentence of one to three years; however, Rozovsky served only five months of the sentence before being released on December 27, 2012.

At about the same time, according to court records, a civil case in which the pervert trainer was accused of sexual harassment and physical abuse of a young girl in the summer of 2010 also failed.

Rozovsky previously managed the Dinamo NY football club before moving to the Chelsea Premier Soccer Academy, where he is listed as a director, according to sources and records on the website.

Founded in 2014 and named after Chelsea FC in London, the Chelsea Premier Soccer Academy aims to be “an outstanding educational and sporting organisation that offers high-quality experiences for every athlete.”

According to its website, Rozovsky’s Club will host both a day camp and an overnight camp in 2022.

The day camp where the alleged attack on the 10-year-old player took place offered activities at several sites in South Brooklyn, according to sources, and charged parents $350 a week for their children to attend.

The club’s website features a photo of “Steve Rososki,” who a source says is Rozosky. Rososki’s entry shows that he has 30 years of experience as a youth coach and holds a doctorate in clinical and sports psychology.

The discovery of the coach’s other name and his previous case shocked a parent whose child had participated in Rozovsky’s soccer program for two years before quitting.

“It’s disgusting,” the father, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Post on Friday.

He stated that Rozovsky frequently traveled throughout the United States with his children to attend soccer events.

“I had this business card that said he had all these licenses and belonged to all these organizations,” the parent said.

“It is concerning that someone who has already experienced a similar situation is not subjected to a background check and is now working with children.”
