Brad Keselowski leaves open the possibility for RFK Racing to add a third car in 2025

Brad Keselowski leaves open the possibility for RFK Racing to add a third car in 2025

RFK Racing, formerly Roush Fenway Racing, has been competing full-time with two cars in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2017. Since Brad Keselowski becomes co-owner in 2022, there has been speculation that RFK could add a third full-time venture, but so far nothing has come of it.

With Silly Season in full swing, Keselowski discussed Friday the possibility of RFK fielding a third full-time charter. Keselowski did not rule out the possibility, but did not give a specific timeline.

“Not today, but hopefully soon,” Keselowski told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports.

Keselowski currently drives the flagship No. 6 while Chris Buescher drives the No. 17. Both have been instrumental in RFK’s revival and have won four races together since the start of the 2023 season. In addition to Keselowski and Buescher, RFK has fielded several drivers with the No. 60 in select races this season. David Ragan drove the Daytona 500 while Cam Waters was behind the wheel at Sonoma. Joey Hand drove the car to a 4th-place finish at the Chicago Street Race last month.

Brad Keselowski responds to speculation that RFK Racing will permanently field three cars

Pockrass had previously mentioned that RFK was in the running for a Kroger sponsorship in 2025, which could pave the way for the team to field a third car permanently.

“RFK Racing is in the running for Kroger sponsorship for 2025 and could potentially field a third full-time car if it does,” Pockrass recently wrote. “Brad Keselowski said on Aug. 23 that he was open to fielding a third full-time car: ‘Not today, but hopefully soon.’ He even left open the possibility of fielding a third car without a charter. Kroger previously sponsored Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece and had good relationships with both when they drove for JTG Daugherty Racing.”

Keselowski said “absolutely” to the idea of RFK deploying a third non-charter car in 2025.

“I would say anything is possible,” Keselowski said. “We did it this year, not full-time. … Nothing is out of the question.”
