Real Estate in Indianapolis, Most Expensive Homes Sold in 2024

The median sales price of a home in central Indiana hit an all-time high of $320,000 in June of this year, according to the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors. Last month it fell to $305,000, indicating a market shift in favor of buyers that is likely to accelerate through September.

But buyers of the five homes on this list probably aren’t worried about the median sales price.

From a 20,000-square-foot estate with 16 bathrooms and an outdoor tennis court to a mansion with water views, here are five of the most expensive homes sold so far in 2024 in the Indianapolis area.

$4.25 million home on Williams Creek

This $4.25 million home, located on a wooded, five-acre lot on Williams Creek, is one of the most expensive homes sold in Indianapolis this year, according to Zillow listings.

Built in 1960, the mansion on High Drive in north Indianapolis sold on June 28, according to Zillow. The home has 5,920 square feet, five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The backyard features a pool and fire pit surrounded by views of a green canyon.

$3.6 million home in West Carmel

This West Carmel home, one of many gems in the gated Estates of Clay West community, sold for $3.6 million on May 21, according to Zillow.

Built in 2004, the property spans 12,740 square feet and features eight bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. Its architecture pays homage to the classic Italian villa, while the interior exudes Old World Italian charm.

$3.2 million estate in Meridian Hills

This sprawling Meridian Hills estate offers more square footage than any other home on this list. According to its listing on Zillow, the 21,634-square-foot home in north Indianapolis has eight bedrooms and 16 bathrooms.

Built in 1940 in the Tudor style, the house is the second oldest property on this list. It sold on April 15 for more than $3.2 million.

Set on nearly three acres of land, the property was designed for entertaining on a grand scale. There are formal gardens, a swimming pool and a tennis court. There is a private guest apartment and enough garage space for nine cars.

$2.35 million home on Geist Reservoir

This north Indianapolis home with stunning water views sold for $2.35 million on June 24.

The six-bedroom home is just under 12,000 square feet, with enough room for an indoor squash court, a gym and a small theater. A dock provides easy access to the main part of Geist Reservoir. The 1998 home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac, surrounded by mature trees.

$2.05 million home in Indianapolis near Butler

Located on Washington Boulevard near Butler University, this century-old house shares a history with well-known buildings in the area, such as the Hilbert Circle Theater, the Columbia Club and the Madam CJ Walker Legacy Center, all designed by the Indianapolis architectural firm Rubush & Hunter.

Built in 1924 in the Tudor Revival style, this is the oldest property on this list and has had seven owners, the last of whom sold it on June 20 for $2,050,000 after extensive renovations. The six-bedroom home has more than 850 square feet.
