People are praising a nine-year-old flower girl for her grand exit at a wedding

A nine-year-old flower girl has captured the hearts of over a million people online with the extraordinary way she left the wedding ceremony.

Scarlett Rae fearlessly walked down the aisle at a wedding in California in August, capturing the attention of those in attendance and those watching at home.

On August 16, Scarlett Rae’s mother, Raina Elegado, shared a short footage on her TikTok account showing her daughter, a gymnast, causing quite a stir at the ceremony.

The young flower girl stood at the front of the aisle, directly in front of the altar, before performing a series of flips and backflips on the reflective catwalk. “POV: This was your daughter’s exit as flower girl,” Elegado’s on-screen caption read.

The audio of the video included cheers from the surrounding crowd as Scarlett Rae flawlessly performed four somersaults, landing in line with the back row of seats.

Scarlett Rae’s daring impressed many TikTok users; she garnered over 1.3 million views on the app alone, while hundreds of followers complimented Elegado on her daughter’s talent in the comments section.

“Honestly iconic for her,” wrote one viewer. Another added: “She’s the main character.”

“I’m so jealous. I hope the best for her,” one sweet woman said. An excited fan exclaimed, “BORN TO BE A STAR.”

“Very attentive, very cute, very reserved,” commented a fourth, alluding to the recent TikTok trend coined by creator Jools Lebron.

One person was impressed and said, “If I could do that, I would never stop.”

Speaking to ABC, Elegado said her daughter was a “competitive dancer.” Scarlett Rae also planned her own spectacular exit and wanted to make a splash at the ceremony.

Scarlett Rae is one of three children. Elegado was a dancer but is now a “dance mom” who watches Scarlett Rae perform and loves the sport as much as she does.

On TikTok, the proud father posted numerous videos of Scarlett Rae during dance training, performing “cool tricks” and demonstrating them in front of the class.

Scarlett Rae is not the only young woman to attract attention online with her exemplary skills. Ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, a five-year-old’s training video inspired by the US women’s gymnastics team was viewed more than 1.8 million times and Simone Biles left her own comment.

The five-year-old, known online as “Miss Nova Girl,” was filmed performing a levitation exercise in a leotard with the USA logo. “The future,” read the caption on Instagram.

Gold medalist and “greatest athlete of all time,” Simone Biles, was one of the many spectators who couldn’t help but praise the little girl. “That little proud pose,” Biles wrote. “Go get it girl!!!!”
