How long will Chicago-area water parks be open? – NBC Chicago

Although summer is coming to an end and students are heading back to school, the impending sweltering temperatures may prompt some Chicago-area residents to head to the water park for the last time this year.

Although the region’s water parks have ceased daily operations, sun worshippers still have the opportunity to enjoy the sun for a few weekends.

Raging waves

Raging Waves, the region’s largest water park in Yorkville, will remain open three more weekends, including this weekend, and operations will continue through the weekend of September 7-8.

Raging Waves is open not only the weekend of August 31st through September 1st, but also on Labor Day (Monday, September 2nd).

Raging Waves will be open from 10am to 6pm both days this weekend, but hours will be reduced to 10am to 5pm for the rest of the season.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, located next to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, will remain in operation this weekend and Labor Day weekend. The park’s last day of the season is Monday, September 2.

On all remaining operating days this season, the park will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cypress Cove Family Water Park

Cypress Cove will be open this weekend as well as Labor Day weekend. Hours will remain open from noon to 5 p.m. all other days.

Additionally, the park in Woodridge will also be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Labor Day.

Paradise Bay Water Park

Paradise Bay in Lombard will remain open from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. this weekend and next, and will also be open from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Labor Day.

Coral Cove Water Park

Coral Cove in the western suburb of Carol Stream is open from noon to 5 p.m. this weekend and next, with the same hours on Labor Day.

Mystic Waters Family Swim Center

Located just outside the Chicago city limits in Des Plaines, Mystic Waters is open this weekend only. It will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th before closing for the season.

Splash Country Water Park

Splash Country Water Park in Aurora is closed for the season.

Atcher Island

Atcher Island in the northwest suburb of Schaumburg is closed for the 2024 season.
