A 3-year-old girl was found after going missing in northern Kentucky Friday night, the Kenton County Emergency Management Agency confirmed.

At around 7:14 p.m., Independence police responded to a report that a toddler was missing on Wayman Drive, the dispatch center said.

According to a Facebook post by her mother, Tiffani Nichol Carter, published around 11 p.m., she was found Friday night.

The girl, named “Percy,” was found in the neighbor’s “cat house,” Carter said in another post. Carter added in her post that her daughter “had been hiding, falling asleep, and was too scared from all the chaos (of the search efforts) to come out.”

Carter confirmed that her daughter was not injured while on duty.

Social media posts indicate that members of the Independence community have rallied around Carter to help search for her daughter.

“I AM SO INCREDIBLY PROUD OF THE INDEPENDENT CITY!!!! Everyone stepped up to their game and did exactly what they had to do to find Tiffani Nichol Carter’s daughter tonight,” one user wrote on Facebook.

“To all the volunteers, police and firefighters who went out to look for her, thank you,” she added. “To everyone who shared it on social media and got her name and picture out there, thank you. To everyone who said a prayer, thank you.”

“It was a beautiful sight to see the thousands of people who came to look for this sweet little girl,” wrote another user. “In times when we are unsure about the future, this baby brought everyone together.”
