New feature on Instagram: Meta-owned platform Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to add a song to their profile, but the new functionality is similar to that of the now-barren social media platform Myspace from the early 2000s.

The new feature was introduced with the new release in collaboration with American pop star Sabrina Carpenter, whose Instagram profile now contains a teaser for her upcoming single “Taste” from the album “Short n’ Sweet”.

Instagram has also recently introduced a feature that allows users to add up to 20 titles to a single reel and visually coordinate audio with elements such as text, stickers and clips while editing in the app.

How to add a song to your Instagram profile

Step 1: Open the Instagram app and go to your profile by tapping the profile icon.

Step 2: Tap the Edit Profile button directly below your bio.

Step 3: Scroll down and select the option “Add music to your profile”.

Step 4: Browse the available songs or search for your favorite track.

Step 5: Select a 30-second clip of the song you want to feature on your profile.

Step 6: Once you’re happy with your selection, save it. The song will now appear in your bio section and can be played by anyone who visits your profile.
