The principal of a New York school that was in turmoil over rampant anti-Semitism is fired and replaced by a Muslim educator

According to the Washington Post, the principal of a Brooklyn high school that is home to a gang of Hitler-loving youths and anti-Semitic machinations is to be fired and replaced by a Muslim teacher.

Dara Kammerman’s resignation as interim principal of Origins High School came six months after The Washington Post uncovered complaints that she had failed to contain outbursts against Jewish and LGBTQ students and teachers.

Kammerman sent an email to the school community on Monday announcing that she was “stepping down” after 11 years at the Sheepshead Bay school. She made no mention of the turmoil, calling Origins “wonderfully diverse” and saying, “I am proud of what the school has become over the years.”

Dara Kammerman, interim director of Origins HS, is “resigning” after complaints about her misuse of anti-Semitic and anti-LGBTQ acts.

The change also comes shortly after Jewish teacher Danielle Kaminsky and campus manager Michael Beaudry filed a lawsuit against the city’s Department of Education, claiming they were expelled from the school in retaliation for exposing anti-Jewish and homophobic hatred.

Kaminsky, 34, was terrorized by youths who called her a “dirty Jew,” scrawled swastikas in the classroom, gave the Nazi salute and told her, “I wish you had been killed in the Holocaust,” she said. Students tore down an Israeli flag in her classroom and wrote “DIY” on the door.

The misconduct continued because Kammerman did not adequately discipline students, at one point insisting that the teens, who were taunting the teacher about his fondness for Hitler, were “trying to have an academic conversation,” records show.

In a separate email, Superintendent Michael Prayor said Kammerman “will continue to be a valuable member of my team.” He did not elaborate on her new role. She earned $170,508 last year.

Prayor replaced her with Ahmed Elmaliki, a former English teacher with less than two years of experience as assistant principal at the Boerum Hill School for International Studies.

In his own email, Elmaliki described himself as “the child of hard-working immigrants from Yemen.”

Elmaliki made no mention of the horrific incidents at the school.

“I am committed to fostering a culture that celebrates diversity, encourages collaboration and cultivates a love of learning,” he wrote.

Elmaliki was chosen in the hope that he would be able to better serve the large number of Muslim students at the school, Energy Ministry insiders said.

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov (Republican of Brooklyn) expressed relief for school staff and families who have had to “endure the hostile environment” under Kammerman, but urged the DOE to do more to protect students and teachers.

“Nobody is fooled by this ridiculous transfer/promotion. Instead of bringing consequences, it rewards the guilty party,” Vernikov said.
