In this episode of The Depot Dive, Joe Clark and I discuss the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first preseason game against the Houston Texans. We talk about Justin Fields’ performance, Troy Fautanu’s early struggles, the snap issues, and more. We discuss the report that Fautanu will start at right tackle in Week 1 and why that was a bit surprising given his injury.

We then discuss the Atlanta Falcons – the Steelers’ opponent in Week 1 – and how they have dramatically improved their defense with two new signings. We talk about how important this game is for the Steelers and for Russell Wilson, and what challenges the Falcons’ new additions could bring. Matt Judon in particular could cause some problems for the Steelers’ young tackles.

In the third topic, we talk about the different position battles that are still ongoing and we comment on center, offensive tackle, defensive line and outside linebacker.
