Firefighters rescue trapped resident from Bath Beach fire • Brooklyn Paper
New York Fire Department personnel work to extinguish the fire at 1535 Shore Parkway in Bath Beach after rescuing a trapped resident from a second-floor apartment.

According to the New York Fire Department, firefighters rescued a person trapped on the second floor of an apartment building in Bath Beach on Thursday morning.
Firefighters received calls about a fire at 1535 Shore Parkway beginning at 8:30 a.m. on August 15. When firefighters arrived, they discovered smoke coming from a second-floor apartment. Ladder Company 168 quickly located the victim upon arrival. Dozens of tenants were outside with their babies and pets.
The victim was taken by New York Fire Department paramedics to Staten Island University Hospital North in unknown condition. Three firefighters were also taken to Maimonides Medical Center with minor injuries, according to a New York Fire Department official.
The fire department extinguished most of the fire with a water hose. During the search of the entire apartment and the floor above, no further victims were found.
The fire was declared under control at 9:25 a.m. Fire marshals with the New York City Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire and will determine the cause and origin of the fire.
