Calling all performing artists working to develop original work! Apply now for Mark DeGarmo Dance for Social Change 2025’s 15th Annual Virtual Salon Performance Series.

Founded in 2010, Mark DeGarmo Dance’s Virtual Salon Performance Series for Social Change is a unique forum for developing works in progress, hosted by dancer, choreographer, author and researcher Dr. Mark DeGarmo. Created to support and showcase underfunded and underappreciated performing artists, the Virtual Salon Performance Series provides the public with an opportunity to view and engage with original, ongoing works in the performing arts and dance.

Since 2020, the series has presented the work of 419 in-person artists and performers from more than 30 countries and 19 U.S. states in 25 in-person and virtual salons. Mark DeGarmo Dance is seeking dance artists for the 2025 season on Thursdays February 6, March 6, and April 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET for its Virtual Salon Performance Series for Social Change, a presentation of original artistic works in progress with moderated audience response. The theme for 2025 is “No Borders, No Hierarchies.”

Performances will be broadcast live on Zoom. Selected artists will broadcast their live performances of works in progress from their preferred locations and draw audiences; they must have the necessary technical and marketing capacity to be considered. Tickets for the 2025 series will be available in fall 2024.

Applications are open until September 30, 2024, 11:59 p.m. ET. Apply now using the Google form.
