Donald Duck can be seen in the new episode of “Hot Ones” directed by Eric Goldberg
As part of Donald Duck’s 90th birthday celebrations, the classic Disney character appeared on the online celebrity interview show Hothosted by Sean Evans. The series is produced by Buzzfeed’s First We Feast label and Complex Media.
Instead of following the show’s usual format of having the celebrities eat spicy chicken wings, Donald chose not to eat his fellow poultry and opted to pour his hot sauce over vegetarian cauliflower “wings.”
The show also features a cameo appearance by Mickey Mouse. “Mickey Mouse and his friends, including Donald Duck, have always been a part of pop culture, so it was only natural that Donald and Mickey would appear on one of the Internet’s most popular shows with celebrity guests,” said Tim Pennoyer, director of brand marketing for The Walt Disney Company.
The animation was done by Walt Disney Animation Studios and directed by Eric Goldberg. Donald is voiced by Tony Anselmo and Mickey by Bret Iwan.
“It was a great honor to have two of our biggest stars, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, in this special episode of Hot,” Goldberg said in a statement. “Of course, Donald can be a little moody at times, but all the artists involved loved animating him!”
