Boil water advisory issued by Mims Water Supply in Marion County

Boil water advisory issued by Mims Water Supply in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) – From Mims Water Supply:

Due to a drop in water pressure caused by a water main break on Victory School Road, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has requested that the public water system Mims Water Supply Corp TX1580064 instruct affected customers to boil their water before consumption (e.g. washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.). Children, seniors, and those with compromised immune systems are especially vulnerable to harmful bacteria and all customers should follow these instructions. This includes customers on State Highway 49 from the Joe Davis Road intersection east to Kellyville at 26375 State Highway 49.

To ensure that all harmful bacteria and other microbes are killed, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled before use for drinking water or human consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous boil and then boiled for two minutes. Instead of boiling, individuals can purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source for drinking water or human consumption.

When boiling water is no longer necessary, public water system employees will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking or human consumption. Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will provide customers with a notice lifting the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice. Please pass this information on to all other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (e.g., people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You may do so by posting this notice in a public location or distributing copies by hand or mail. If you have any questions about this matter, you may contact David Oney, General Manager and Operator, at 903-601-2746 or Paula Hathcoat, Office Manager, at 903-601-2155.

You may also contact our business office at 12688 FM 729 at 903-755-3185 during business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
