At the end of the walk-ons, the coach told the athletes that he had done some background checks and “one of the guys was disqualified.” He added that his “test results were terrible,” after which the cameras panned to Manning, who looked devastated. “Plus,” the coach continued, “we found out he was ineligible.”

Manning then stood in front of the other participating athletes and said, “I’m sorry,” as he began to remove his wig and prosthetics.

“I’m just a 41-year-old guy who just wants to play ball,” he said. “I’m just trying to get back out there.”

The men began to laugh, visibly shocked by Manning’s revelation. He then said how much fun he had playing with the college students that day.
