On Friday, Episode 6 of Road to UFC 3 dropped, continuing the road to the big show for all ten featured fighters. Or in this case, maybe nine.

For three seasons now, the Road to UFC tournament has sought to produce some top talent for the promotion, with a focus on up-and-coming Asian talent. Essentially, the series serves as Asia’s answer to Dana White’s Contender SeriesAnd The ultimate fightera kind of hybrid of both. Tournament format like TUF, but focused on fighting without being locked in the TUF house.

Friday night’s sixth episode of Road to UFC featured semifinals at featherweight and women’s strawweight, as well as a special welterweight bout (which was converted to a catchweight) that saw the former Samandar Muradov return to the show for a second time, paired with Jonathan Peirsma. At the weigh-in, Perisma came in three pounds overweight. That certainly won’t help his chances of getting signed to the promotion.
