Enisa and Kaskade team up for new song “Tears Don’t Fall” after making waves at Toronto’s VELD festival

Dance music mega-producer Kaskade and Brooklyn-based singer Enisa teamed up this summer at Canada’s largest electronic music festival, VELD, and now their collaborative song is out there.

In “Tears Don’t Fall,” Kaskade – one of the biggest headliners and most successful artists in electronic music of the last two decades – teams up with newcomer Enisa for a rousing and emotional dance-pop hit.

That’s not our word, that’s Kaskade’s. In a new Instagram clip, he speaks to Enisa in the backseat of a car about how the collaboration came about. Originally an unfinished session they recorded and put on hold, a mutual connection led Kaskade to listen to the song again and realize, “Damn, this thing is hot… this is a hit!”

The music video finds the two behind the decks at a packed club and festival (identified by some in the comments as Toronto’s VELD and Rebel) doing what they do best – letting the crowd play like an instrument. As the song slowly builds to its climax, it’s hard not to join in.

Kaskade is no stranger to Canada. He has been a top act at festivals across the country and has been a long-time collaborator with Canadian artist deadmau5. The two released an album together last year as the new duo Kx5.

Albanian-American singer Enisa is on the rise and is popular with many songwriters and producers. Last year, she landed on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for the first time, as a guest artist on “Fool 4 U” by Galantis and JVKE.

Billboard Canada We caught up with Kaskade at VELD to find out five things we didn’t know about him. Backstage at the Toronto festival, he tells us he’s surprisingly fluent in Japanese, what he’s been up to when he couldn’t perform during Covid, and a few anecdotes about his family life.
