A BBC investigation found that over 700 people in the UK posted on a suicide-supporting website and found people watching them die.

There is no members area on this site where users can find a suicide partner.

We do not connect numerous double suicides with this “partner thread.”

The investigation also revealed that sex offenders do not use this website to find women in need of protection.

In December 2019, 28-year-old Angela Stevens, Brett, travelled from her hometown in the Midlands to Scotland to meet a woman she had clicked on in the partner thread.

They rent from Airbnb and then take their lives home with them.

Angela says: “I miss everything about Brett, my smile, my infectious laugh.”

Since her son’s death, she has spent years advertising on pro-suicide sites, particularly in the affiliate thread.

She says we’re like the dark version of a dating site.

She was able to add: “This is a very dangerous place. Where else do you go and find a partner to follow you and die. This is a very disgusting place.”

This thread encourages users to end their lives and even teaches them how to do so.

Our analysis has shown that there are over 5,000 posts in this thread, originating from all over the world.

We do not agree with the name of this website or share the suicide they recommend for it.

A BBC investigation in March found that over 130 British Pipos could be killing people with the chemicals produced at the site.

The BBC team sets up an anonymous account and checks the number and content of the messages.

Members indicate their age, gender, location, and how they want to die so they can find people to die with them.

Helen Kite’s sister Linda is looking for a partner for 2023.

Helen says on the forum that they “prey on desperate souls. Partners have blamed them for not being fit until they are captured.”

Linda wrote: “I am a 54 year old woman living near London. I will cover the travel and hotel if I get a Beta Pass. Of course it would be good if we could talk beforehand.”

Linda, meeting a guy for the affiliate thread and linking up for a hotel in Romford, East London.

You take toxic chemicals and die on July 1, 2023.

Helen says they found Linda “laying down next to the body of a complete stranger.”

She believes that every day they say: “They catch innocent victims who find support without the authorities stopping them.”

The bad news never ends for Helen. In September 2023, her old sister Sarah, who is mourning Linda, will die from the same toxic chemical.

Predators

A shocking part of the partner thread was deleted from the investigation.

Such sex offenders use them to target vulnerable and suicidal people, especially women.

In 2022, a court in Glasgow will hear that 31-year-old Craig McInally left numerous posts in the partners thread, where young women post to find partners to die with them.

And one of them, a 25-year-old woman, came to my apartment and “practiced” suicide.

McInally begins to choke until she loses consciousness.

They arrest McInally because he is in the house and want to find out that he does not give “advice and help” to suicidal women.

A thread for Di partners where we meet all Di women.

One of them is 22-year-old Romanian student Roberta Barbos.

In the messages seen by the BBC, McInally let Roberta know that he has plenty of experience and promised that he would do everything right.

She meets McInally once and then turns him down, saying she won’t go back, but still plans to live alone in February 2020.

Roberta’s mom, Maria Barbos, says: “It’s like a horror feeling from another world. I can’t believe there are websites like this. They are sick minds.”

They gave McInally a life sentence suspended for life, the same sentence that applies in Scotland to the most serious sexual and violent offences other than murder.

This means they will be sentenced to a minimum of two years and three months in prison and will be under supervision or detention for the rest of their lives.

Our research has shown that some forum users have not gone abroad to meet partners in the last two years.

We see two cases in which men from the United States went abroad to meet and “help” vulnerable young women with suicide plans.

We do not name any of the many Pipo families that are in the Bicos of the Dia families.

In one case, a man from Minnesota traveled to the UK and spent over a week in a hotel with a 21-year-old he met on the thread.

On the eleventh day of sharing the hotel room, the young woman ingested toxic chemicals and died.

The man claims they were sleeping, then she took the substance and called emergency services when we realized she was doing it.

I am arrested and interrogated by the police, but released without charge and can fly home.

In the second case, a man from Florida is said to have arranged a meeting with four men, one of whom was from Great Britain.

According to the investigation, in one case a woman was cheated for a US weapon.

The police found her because she wanted to put her suicide plan into action.

This man does not admit that he flies to London and meets a young British woman in the hotel.

We don’t know who this woman is or what she is.

The man is not accused of any wrongdoing.

What did you do with Dis Mata?

The previous Conservative government introduced the Online Safety Act for 2023, which would allow the regulator Ofcome to take action against this website.

The new Labour government said it was committed to the new law and was “determined to take action to put an end to this harm on the internet”.

Tok-tok pesin tell us: “We want new protective measures as soon as possible.”

Julie Bentley, chair of the Samaritans, said the measures will only prevent harm if they show real enforcement power. “The government and Ofcom say that platforms that pose a high risk to the public must be regulated to the fullest extent possible under the law.”

Ofcom is still figuring out the best way to enforce the law, as enforcement powers do not come into effect until the end of the year.

Do not contact the site administrators either.

However, they say the site is small and based in the US, so they will take legal action against it with all their might.

However, upon investigation of the site, it turned out that one of the main moderators was a woman from the west of England.

We are not worried about their mental health.

Melanie Dawes, chief executive of Ofcome, says threats of prosecution will not change anything.

She says: “We contacted them and told them it was illegal and encouraged suicide. At first they tried to make it available to users in the UK, but then they started doing it again.”

Families of the deceased say the dating threads directly promote suicide, which is illegal in the UK and is available online or offline.

Angela Stevens says: “I think it’s a dream for predators to get that partner thread. They’re very vulnerable to abuse and I find that really, really scary.”
