Comic-Con in Hub City

The long-awaited Hub City Comic Con is back this weekend after a hiatus in 2023. This weekend’s convention will be better than ever, with a host of amazing guests from childhood favorites like “The Fairly OddParents” and “The Legend of Korra” to current trends like “Hazbin Hotel” and “Kaiju No. 8.”

The event begins Saturday, August 24th and runs through Sunday, August 25th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. There will be a wide variety of vendors selling nerdy stuff, art, and more. There will also be fun and educational panels, a cosplay contest, and more.

Summer dance party

Social Dance Lubbock is hosting one of its special events this Saturday, August 24th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Lubbock Garden and Arts Center. There will be a curated playlist of various dance styles including Salsa, Country Two Step, West Coast Swing and more. There will also be finger foods, popsicles, a beach-themed photo booth and fun summer decorations.

They encourage guests to come in their finest vacation attire, so grab your Hawaiian shirt or tropical dress and get ready to dance.
