Dance Moms fans outraged after girl forced to perform ‘disturbing’ number inspired by JonBenét Ramsey murder!

Dancing… Murders?? The latest episode of Dancing mothers has sparked a lot of controversy after a girl performed a routine inspired by the unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey!WTF?!

In case you don’t know, JonBenét (bottom picture) was an American child beauty queen whose body was found “blown and strangled” in the basement of her family home in Boulder, Colorado on December 26, 1996, when she was just six years old. Her mother called 911 hours earlier after finding a ransom note following her disappearance. The death was apparently ruled a homicide, but no one was ever charged with the crime.

After a long investigation, her parents and her brother Burke have been ruled out as suspects, but the DNA of an “unexplained third party” has still not been identified. So it’s a horrific case… and somehow it just became the inspiration for a dance routine?? FFS.

In the latest episode of Hulu‘S Dance Moms: A New Era entitled “Glo Don’t Give with Both Hands,” which was released earlier this month, Ashlan Sheath performed a number that ended with her strangling herself and running off the stage. Before the performance, Ashlan’s mother Lisa said to her:

“You become a glamorous beauty pageant girl – that’s what JonBenét was, but then she was kidnapped and murdered.”

Her daughter said on camera:

“It’s going to be hard to pull off something like a beauty queen, but you’re also going to pretend to be strangled.”

Her mother then went into gruesome detail about the case – literally breaking down the crime by time stamp!! This prompted her daughter to react:

“Oh my God, this is really not for me, but I would do anything to win.”

Yuck!! Watch her discover the horrific backstory behind her dance:

Later in the episode, Ashlan’s dance teacher Gloria “Miss Glo” Hamptonwho assigned this unusual dance, said to her student:

“Remember, it’s a really sad, tragic story. So you play this little kid who’s been put on display in all these beauty pageants, and your parents want this fame and celebrity for you – but is that what they really want?”

Again, it’s about a MURDERED girl. And she’s trying to turn this into a debate about child stars? Why??

Check out some of the now-viral performances that helped her reach fourth place in the competition (below):

The audience was outraged by the “disturbing” number and X (Twitter) react:

“I am outraged at the episode of Dance Mom’s! They had a girl impersonating (JonBenét) Ramsey and at the end of the dances the girl strangled herself and ran away! Oh my god, so damn disrespectful!”

“Say WHAT??????? Sick.”

“Who the hell came up with the idea of doing something so tragic and despicable?”

“(This) has to be the most heinous example of child exploitation on prime-time television.”

“We have become a disgusting society that uses the actual murder of a child for entertainment. Shame on everyone involved in this, including the paedophiles who enjoy it.”

“Who would be so stupid?”

Over Redditanother user called it “extremely disturbing” and added:

“I feel in cases like Jonbenet and Gypsy Rose (Blanchard), where the cases are incredibly public, several documentaries and films have been made about them… people start to blur the lines and forget that these are real children. I think a dance about Jonbenet could never really be performed in good taste. Simply because there is no happy ending, it just highlights a gruesome murder of a child.”

They added that organizers “could easily have performed a beauty pageant number without taking advantage of Jonbenet’s murder.”

Others found it strange to base the performance on the murder, even though it was not even clear to the audience, adding:

“How was the audience supposed to know it was about JonBenet Ramsey? It was weird.”

Weird, unnecessary, tasteless. I have so many words to say! It’s just so unbelievably shocking to make a CHILD do something like that! This will make for a crazy therapy session in the future. LOLz! Reactions?? Sound OFF (below)!
